This page summarizes how we use contact information for SenseGuard Monitoring alerts. The binding terms are in our Terms of Service (section "Electronic communications and alerts") and Privacy Policy.

These practices apply to users who join the site and use the Services in the United States.

Separate agreements at signup

Account registration asks you to agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Those agreements are separate from consent for text messages. Whether you receive SMS from SenseGuard depends on whether you separately opt in to SMS using the consent language shown on the registration form (for example, agreeing to receive text messages from SenseGuard at the mobile number you provide).

Prominent SMS consent on the form

Consent for SMS is shown in its own section of the signup form, using readable body text, not tucked into fine print or combined with the Terms or Privacy checkbox labels. The form includes an explicit statement that you agree to receive text messages from SenseGuard, together with a short description of what those messages are for and how to opt out.

Types of messages

Text and email notifications for SenseGuard Monitoring may include account-related alerts (for example, security, billing, or subscription notices you enable) and monitoring alerts (for example, sensor events, threshold breaches, device connectivity, and similar operational notices). Many businesses also use SMS for promotions; SenseGuard does not send promotional or marketing text messages for SenseGuard Monitoring. If that ever changes for a specific program, the signup or program disclosure will say so and will obtain appropriate consent.

Email and SMS (SenseGuard Monitoring)

Email and toll-free SMS are used for operational and monitoring alerts as described above, not for unsolicited marketing through those channels.

SMS (toll-free) and STOP

SMS alerts are delivered using toll-free SMS messaging. Every SMS includes a reminder that you may reply STOP to opt out of future SMS alerts to that number.

Multiple contacts and accuracy

Your account may include multiple email addresses and phone numbers. You may receive alerts at each contact point you enable, as described in your account settings. You are responsible for entering accurate contact information and for ensuring you are authorized to receive alerts at those addresses and numbers.

Alerts are part of the Services described in our Terms. The Services provide monitoring, alerting, and informational insights only, as set out in the "Monitoring Disclaimer" in our Terms of Service.
